“The Appreciator”

Recently the school, in which I have studied my coaching, introduced a new and improved curriculum. In the new content, we learn that inside each of us there is a captain and the crew. Captain is the leader in us who is courageous, wise and clear…..
The crew consists of different parts of us. One of the crew members that I particularly like is called “The appreciator”.
The appreciator is that part of us who finds something to appreciate in us and in any situation. I believe I always had this in me but now I am more clear and aware of it.
Today more than ever this appreciator came to my rescue. I woke up in the morning and received a bad news which was work related. I was processing it all day and before I get the chance to move forward – as I always do- , I got another bad news which was family related.
So it is 10:21 pm and I am thinking what do I do at the end of this day? I am a big believer of power of choices we make in life and now, in my mind I believe I have 2 choices. Either to sit and invite all the negative energy of the news I have received, OR look at the gift that each of these is having for me.
A great friend of mine wrote to me today  “everything has a purpose” and I am looking at that. What is in each of these situations for me? What am I learning?
I feel that the appreciator in me is more active than ever . Without even knowing exactly what is the positive part of this day, I am noticing the amazing peace and harmony I have had the entire day despite all that has been happening. Something deep inside me is tapping my back, telling me “everything is going to be ok”…
I believe in power of my intentions and my intention today was “to believe”…
I do believe that no matter how bad a situation gets, there is always light at the end of a tunnel .
It is like I am already this psychic who can see something magical will come out of this day. What else can I ask for?
I am grateful and open to all that come my way and I know I am on the right track.

I see the light…..

New year is here. Before we know it. This is another beautiful chance to give birth to new dreams. Once we have a dream, realizing it is so possible.

My new year gift to you all is the below poem. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

With love and Happy New Year to all,

Fatima Nakhjavanpur

A Goal In Life

What do you do
when you’ve pursued a dream
and finally
made it come true -
do you find another dream
and start pursuing it too?
The answer is simple
yes
that is what you have to do.

Just keep pursuing all your dreams
no matter how wild
they may seem.
You have to have
a goal in life
and our dreams are that goal.
We have to pursue them,
each and everyone
to the bitter end,
for if we don’t
we will end up
with a wasted life.

I thought once
I’d given up mine,
but that was just a respite.
I came back
refreshed,
renewed
and pursued my dream
even harder than before
until finally
I made it happen
and made one of my dreams
come true.

“Small is beautiful”

3 days ago, I attended TEDx Dubai . A nonprofit event dedicated to “Ideas worth spreading”. The topic of this year’s event was “The beauty of small things”….

This concept has been coming to my life lately in different forms.

I am currently attending CTI’s Leadership program in North Carolina, US. We are a group of 19 people in the program and the very first day they gave our group a name to represent us and something we can connect to as a group. Ours was “Wren”.

Wren is a very small bird with very loud and often complex songs. The wisdom behind Wren is that “Small is beautiful”….

Today’s TEDx Dubai, brought this back to me. What is about small things that makes them significant ?

I took a moment and thought about all things small. I looked around and paid attention to every little thing. To objects, kids, small flowers in the nature, grains of sand and even particles in the space. They were either independent or part of a whole but no matter how small , they all played an important role. So important that if any of them were not there, the cycle of life would not go on.

I was raised in a culture where everything has to be big to get attention, to be important and to matter….. Of course all the big things get the attention, but how do they come to existence if small parts were not there? How would “Burj Khalifa”, the tallest tower in the world exist if those little bits and pieces did not exist?

Every little piece, every little human being –even a new born- matters. Every little word we say, every little act we do, they all contribute to a bigger whole.

Every little second of our time and how we spend it, can make a difference.

How are we choosing to be with having the small resources in our access? What are we building and making of all those little pieces?

Think about this as you go through the day…I do it every day and create my day, my work and my life from that point.
